About Us

Rachel and Jeff are two conservation photographers who met through mutual friends at a surf art show in San Francisco. After dating for 3 years they broke up due to creative differences over the direction of this bio section.* These are their stories:

Rachel was discovered floating on a mat of giant kelp in the Santa Barbara channel with no memory of how she got there or where she came from—the only things that were certain were her strong connection to the ocean, her desire to protect it, and a strict filter feeding diet of plankton. Rachel’s photography is immersive—literally—most of her shots are taken from the water. She aims to capture the liminal, the in-between, the moving and porous boundary between earth, air, and water.

Jeff was raised in a prairie dog town near the Black Hills of Dakota. His photography is a direct result of his prairie-edge upbringing—he has an eye for nature, negative space, and above all, raptors. For Jeff photography isn’t an end, it’s a means—a way to tell stories and connect folks with nature. Though he has largely acclimated to human society, he still prefers a cozy den in the ground over an office any day.

We hope you enjoy the selection of prints and stories we have to offer!
